1. BEST SCANNER SETTINGS

a.   DOCUMENT TO BE SAVED AS TEXT (OCR)

1.   300 dpi, 100%, Brightness = -9

b.   DOCUMENT TO BE SAVED AS A GRAPHIC

1.   150 dpi, 100%…these numbers affect the swap file size

2.   In VistaScan32 check Auto Adjust and then test variations

c.   IMAGES

3.   In VistaScan32 check Auto Adjust and then test variations

4.   Save as JPG to allow compression, and experiment with compression ratio

5.   Save as TIF for quality but large files

6.   Experiment for color and black and white settings
