Resume

I author Journey in being—this website that explores the
depth and variety of the Universe. I draw from but seek to further the traditions in ideas and being—my continued interest and experience in these goes back to undergraduate and
high school days

The image1980, Barranca del Cobre (Copper Canyon) Mexico. I was climbing up and out of the Rio Urique Barranca, over the Sierra, toward the Barranca of Rio Batopilas. The photograph was taken by my hiking companion, Jim. We carried our food, water, sleeping bags and tent. It is late afternoon. We had gotten lost that morning and stumbled upon an isolated hamlet inhabited by a Senor and his wife. We offered to pay for breakfast. The Senora flew down the hillside, picked fresh tomatoes, ground corn, made tortillas, and fried the tomatoes which were served with goat cheese. I shall not forget that adventure

Inspiration is drawn from 'wild' areas of New York, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Mexico, and California... and exposure to the world of ideas via undergraduate eduction at Indian Institute of Technology and PhD from University of Delaware. I have been a university professor—Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Texas-Austin,  and California State University. I have run all phases of a restaurant and provided direct care of acute psychiatric services

My father was East Indian, my mother British. I was born and spent my youth in Indiamostly in the university town of Kharagpur where my father was Professor. My brother Robin and his wife Susan live in London and my daughter Carissa in Austin, Texas
