Barranca del Cobre (Copper Canyon) Mexico. I was climbing up and out of the
Rio Urique Barranca, over the Sierra, toward the Barranca of Rio Batopilas.
The photograph was taken by my hiking companion, Jim. We carried our food,
water, sleeping bags and tent. It is late afternoon. We had gotten lost that
morning and stumbled upon an isolated hamlet inhabited by a Senor and his
wife. We offered to pay for breakfast. The Senora flew down the hillside, picked fresh tomatoes, ground
corn, made tortillas, and fried the tomatoes which were served with goat
cheese. I shall not forget that adventure
