That is today and the rest of the trip. It is hike, think, and get back home intelligently and on time. The tripGeneralI accomplished more than I expected – hiking, experience of being, beauty, thoughts on my life, the way of being, and more. I also accomplished less – my strength, balance, and endurance are becoming challenged. I shall have to keep fit and pare pack weight. Return - life The singingMost nights – and days – not as exciting as last year but pervasive. My reasons for backpacking and more – June 25My reasons for trips to the mountains are I enjoy their beauty in so many ways on so many fronts. Though hiking is often hard, it often transs transforms into something magical as though I am present to the earth and in the earth. The backpacking, the day hikes, even sleeping on the hard ground, are all healthy, good exercise, and improve my general physical and mental well-being. I am told that when I get back to society, I seem radiant. In brackets, of course, that’s slightly unfortunate in that I am not, perhaps not radiant, under normal circumstances, or at least less radiant. Then—nature. I find nature inspiration to what is real. It’s not the only inspiration, but it is an important and a containing one, in that it’s the cradle also of society and culture. And it’s’s not only a source of insight, but also a gateway, a portal to a realm. It’s a place to get into contact with part of myself, part of my real self, that I am not always in contact with when I am in society. Combining the contact with myself and the contact with the real, which are ultimately one and the same thing, results and has resulted in my best thoughts regarding science and philosophy and other topics. It is where I have had some of my best insights, some of my best integrated thought, which I review and process when I get back to culture and society. Getting into the groove of being with nature, being able to hike well, being able to sleep well, it’s always a relearning process and a good one, and it feels wonderful to get into that groove. Meeting people is mixed. I almost always enjoy it, and sometimes I have some really nice interactions. On the other hand, it does take me away from the other purposes.. And once we part company, I miss it—depending on the duration and appeal of the interaction, it may take up to a day to get back into the groove. So, for the main reasons, I generally prefer times and places of wild isolation. Even in society, interaction with others detracts from my aims—in terms of time and truth. On this trip, I am having some good ideas on future backpacking what to do with the rest of my life, how to integrate the two, because sometimes backpacking takes me away from the other things I want to do. I’ve also had good insights into what I want to do for the rest of my life. which is a complex scan of worms. One of the things is becoming my true self. I met a young Chinese woman in the evening, yesterday. She drove in early in the evening and ran around frantically looking for a campsite. None were available. She scoped the scene, and I guess she must have somehow decided that since I was alone and for other reasons, I might have looked approachable and possibly friendly. She asked if she could share my bare safe vault, and I said, "Of course, yes." And then she asked where she could camp, and I pointed to a place which is not a regular campsite, but where I have seen people camping and where it is probably okay to camp. And she decided to take up take me up on that. She calls herself Luna, but her real name is something like Liu, and I was unable to pronounce it, and she says she calls herself Luna because Americans cannot pronounce her name properly. She was probably in her early 30s, very intelligent, speaks English well, grew up in in China (not speaking English) in a town in southern China, a town that is called the Frontier to Taiwan and that if a war ever breaks out between China and Taiwan, that will be the place where conflict begins (it is a port town across from Taiwan’s ‘Frontier Island’—I must look up the names) he has traveled the world, including Sweden and other places in Europe. She finds that China and the US have many similarities, including the Great Wealth disparity. Unlike Sweden, whether disparity is nowhere near is great, and where everybody seems to get a reasonable income and even educated people do ordinary jobs because most people are educated. She She has a degree in international relationships from UC San Diego, and she is very well informed. She focused on Asia, so she’s especially well informed on Asia. We spoke about the politics of China, the politics of India and India versus Pakistan, and the issue of Kashmir. and she’s very eloquent and insightful. We ate two meals together. She ate her food, I ate mine, and we had nice, fun conversations. over the meals. This morning, she left, and when she left, I said, I enjoyed talking to you. I hope you have a great rest of the trip. And she said something similar to me. The emergence of extension and duration – June 30, early, about 1:30 am· This is to be worked out, the following is a first try – emergence itself is the emergence of duration but emergence also implies that something has emerged, and therefore sameness, difference, and identity. But how do we get the uniformity of extension and duration that is our space and time(in general relativity it is, of course, not true uniformity, but in terms of the distribution of matter, it is a kind of uniformity because the space time metric depends only on the distribution of matter, so in the absence of local matter space and time are in fact uniform, and in the presence of matter the different measures of space time at different locations are related so that standard measures can indeed be set up)? The answer is in the sameness of sameness and difference. Furthermore, it has already been seen, and relativity lies in the incomplete distinction between the different modes of sameness the identity. And that the quantum lies already in the void, and it’s signature, therefore marks extension and duration, that is – the objects whose identity constitutes extension, and duration, whose is measure is space and time or rather spacetime. For example, the eight-fold way and the four noble truths of Buddhism, but the eightfold way of both Buddhism and yoga. Some practical aspects of Christian daily living, the spiritual and real meaning of the ultimate in these religions and symbolic meaning also look at otherwise religions for similar inspiration, that is sources for daily living or living in general. o The third will be a ground up analysis of religion. Here, unlike in the previous two points, we will try to find some essences of religion in its various symbolic, cultural, real, and social aspects. and not rejecting the political and economic and not pretending that religion ought not to be political and economic. After all, if religion is about the real, should it not in fact be about the political and economic? o And the fourth will be an analysis of all the previous three in terms of the real metaphysics of the way of being. Direct argumentObserved fact, versus intrinsic fact Likely versus certain fact, Indirect argument or inferenceIn indirect establishment of facts, from given facts, further facts are inferred. The given facts are often called PREMISES because the characteristic of INFERENCE is that independently of their truth (facticity), if the premises are true, the further facts or CONCLUSIONS are true Necessary inferenceIn NECESSARY inference: if the premises are true, the conclusions are certainly true. In necessary inference, given logic, the conclusions are implicit in the premises · In DEDUCTION, inference is from premises to conclusion via laws of logic. In INTRINSIC inference, the conclusion is established without recourse to premises (this is related and, at least in some cases, maybe identical to intrinsic fact). Though the inference of “something“ from “nothing“ may seem absurd, we will find that it is not— and an example will be given. Likely inferenceLIKELY or reasonable inference: if the premises are true, or likely to be true, the conclusions are also likely to be true. This kind of inference is ‘ampliative’, i.e., the conclusions contain some information not present in the premises. Some kinds of likely inference are INDUCTION, ABDUCTION, and ANALOGY. · Consider the possibility of intrinsic likely inference.
