Influences — General

Next | Previous | Clear | Home

The Complete Narrative lists influences but few detailed references. Reasons for this approach include (1) It general influence is for readers who would engage in the journey and (2) I think it important to show where my process stands in relation to our civilization—and to be in that process (I may later return to scholarship).

Main influences must include the immensely significant but diffuse influences of world and personal history. General influence includes the cultures, East and West, that I have experienced. I have absorbed much implicit knowing-by-immersion; had access to educational and knowledge. Diffuse influence transcends culture: Being and language were not created by culture—their origins are more remote.
