Ideas recounted in the text often came as flow
outside my … Meaning is sometimes seen as fixed Many ideas and ways of this narrative are new. Understanding will be best when it is appreciated
that To specify meaning where it may lack adequate
definition The text will use non standard capitalization, e.g.

PrologueThe Idea of a Worldview or CosmologyTo know and appreciate greatest being requires
faithful The Standard CosmologiesThe common ‘standard’ cosmologies are secular and
trans- The philosopher David Hume pointed out the absence
of Secularism sees science reach far into all known
niches and Page 5 |
Hume’s argument disproves the necessity of fit. The
niche Since Newton’s synthesis science has uncovered many
niches Therefore, from necessity and probability, science
allows Mythic trans-secular cosmologies so conflict realism
and Any metaphysics that agrees with standard
cosmologies— One aspect of secular thought is significant—all

Journey in BeingA ‘universe’ of narrative would have no definite
beginning Experience and FoundationExperience—awareness—is the place of knowledge of Experience is the rock of knowledge of things— Is there more than experience? There are temptations
to There will be displacement of excesses of doubt and confidence Page 7 |
Demonstration follows. If there is only experience
then it is as Such foundation is no guarantee we will find the
world to be This illustrates a general value to care in
foundation. A further The process is not single step. Here the foundation
has been Though often small, there are also major
‘increments’. Page 8 |
ExistenceThe word ‘exists’ refers to ‘what is there’. To
exist is ‘Exists’ shall denote any mix of ‘existed’,
‘exists’, and ‘will BeingBeing is that which exists. The power of the idea of Mention of these special kinds is not essential Page 9 |
UniverseThe Universe is All Being. Whatever has Being is in the Universe. ‘Being’ discriminates only existence from
non-existence. The Universe contains all creation LawsKnowledge of the natural world is The laws of natural science are familiar Page 10 |
A law is a reading of a pattern; This ‘realism’ of natural law may be extended.
Morality, The VoidThe Void is the absence of Being. Therefore the Void The Void which is the absence of Being exists and The Universal MetaphysicsAll states emerge from the Void Page 11 |
If power is degree of limitlessness, the Universe is
ultimate The Universe has no limits. The worldview that results is called It is crucial to use of the metaphysics that its
meaning shall Meaning of the MetaphysicsIn this section ‘concept’ will refer to referential
concepts— While useful, this freedom allows formation of
concepts that Page 12 |
From the limitlessness of the Universe the only
concepts This minimal Realism constitutes Another term for Realism is Logic: the Universe is
the object The object of Logic is the Universe. All valid
science and Agreement with fact includes agreement with the
knowledge The vastness and Forms of Logic await discovery—The Page 13 |
This account of explicit meaning should be
complemented CosmologyThe universal metaphysics implies what follows. Natural science and experience have domains of
validity The Universe has neither beginning nor end. This is not a limit for Logic does not require that
extension Every state or element of Being is equivalent to
every other. Page 14 |
However breadth is ever open—the extension,
duration, variety, Every Law, every cosmos is repeated without limit. Every atom is a cosmos, every cosmos an atom. The Universe has and must have manifestation and
Identity Individual and IdentityThese powers of the Universe are conferred on
individuals Though individual identity may seem a concrete unity Page 15 |
Apparent limits are part of the constitution Such, too, is the nature of human limits The givenness of realization does not negate While in limited form realization is endless
process— The oneness, connection, and continuity In unlimited form realization is Aeternitas— That realization for limited form is endless Page 16 |
For such forms remain ever in process and A Perfect, Unique, and Ultimate MetaphysicsThe meaning of the metaphysics has been given
clarity; In foundation in experience and Being the
metaphysics The universal metaphysics resolves foundation of
Being but Though Logic is ultimate, its forms continue to
emerge. Except Being and experience—roughly, world and knowledge— Page 17 |
Civilization and RealizationOur civilization is the web of human culture The metaphysics reveals a limitless Universe open to Individuals foster Civilization; Civilization provides ways of ideation and action— The standard forms of the disciplines— Page 18 |
Our apparent limits are Laws or The apparently stable initial ground Ultimate realization for all beings is given Sacred scriptures talk of divine magnificence. An
example: The Universe and the place of individuals in it are
limitlessly Page 19 |
The vehicles of realization are individual and
group— The places of realization are the Ground—nature—and Transformation of Being has been seen to be via
ideas and action. Experience suggests restraint in thought of such
population. Realization derives inspiration from the disciplines
in The disciplines offer catalysts of mind and body
change, e.g., Page 21 |
Disciplines vary among cultures. Psychologies, East
and West, Transience and ArrivalRealization begins in the present, perhaps with
the disciplines, Living in transience, its joy and anxiety, is on the
way—is

Information on the authorMy interests in ideas fall under ‘the universe and our place in it’. My approach is from experience with support from metaphysical thought (as understood in philosophy), science, and tradition. The metaphysics of the narrative shows itself to be most complete when continued in action. I think of my life—the growth of my person and thought—as a journey. I have found inspiration in ‘wild’ places. That we have origins in nature (the wild) suggests that it should be one gate to the reality found in the text. These are some of the sources of the idea of a journey that is personal and universal. I owe a debt to the history of ideas. I enjoy ideas and thought but do not think of myself as an intellectual. My main aspiration includes the journey suggested in the text. Ideas are an element of this endeavor. I want to live a good life—of course—and the journey is a part of that life. My post high school education is in engineering and mathematics. I have taught and researched at a number of universities in the United States. I have worked in mental health and briefly as creator of a small eatery. I live on the Pacific Coast in Northern California. As part of the ‘journey’ project I hope to travel and spend time in nature. Friday, April 26, 2013 Page 24 |
